Archive Post: S3E14 - "Expose"

Episode: Exposé

Character: Nikki & Paulo

Hi, everyone. I hope everyone enjoyed last night’s episode of “Lost”. Unfortunately, there isn’t too much to report on from this one, so this’ll be a short one. This episode was GREAT entertainment, but I can’t help but wonder what purpose it served. They brought Nikki and Paulo into the show this season, and then apparently killed them off, making no real advances in the plot. So why even have them in the show? I hope the producers of the show have something up their sleeves with this one.

Direction at its Prime: The first thing that I wanted to comment on with this episode is how great the direction was. They were able to successfully intertwine Nikki and Paulo’s story into the island history. I loved watching the

I See Dead People (or do I?): The big question for me at the end of the episode is, are Nikki and Paulo dead? In the final scene, we see that Nikki opens her eyes, but is still paralyzed. Now, Sawyer didn’t necessarily dig a very deep hole, so I would think it would be semi-possible. I actually hope that one of them survives (preferably Nikki). After all, wasn’t Nikki told by the producer/director/boyfriend guy after her onscreen death that he could bring her back from the dead? And when Paulo was burying the diamonds, Locke told him that things don’t tend to stay buried for long on the island. IF they are, in fact, alive, I think that will change the opinions of a lot of viewers who didn’t like the episode.

Vincent Knew: It was a really nice afterthought that Vincent may have known that Paulo and Nikki weren’t dead, because as they laid there, covered with the sheet, Vincent pulled the sheet back, almost as if to tell the other survivors that they aren’t dead.

=IF(Smokey”=“Spider”,….. Did you hear it? Right before the spiders attacked, we heard the a little bit of the smoke monster. So does this mean that the spiders were actually manifestations of the smoke monster? Leslie (Arzt) did tell Nikki that he’d discovered several new species since crashing on the island. Could he have trapped a part of the smoke monster? ….. I think not. I think that it would be more plausible that the smoke monster led the spiders to them, rather than it actually being the smoke monster. Then again, anything’s possible. I do believe that Vincent is the smoke monster. But that’s a whole separate topic.

Flashback Flashback: I wanted to quickly flashback to a previous flashback, where Desmond was watching the infamous soccer game in a bar (episode: “Flashes Before Your Eyes”). If you recall, there were several billboard ads around the stadium advertising for various LOST-oriented companies. One of the ads was for “Exposé”. We also saw (in last week’s episode) Locke sitting around watching TV in his apartment… and what was he watching? An episode of Exposé! Nice little cross-over.

Ben & Juliet: I can’t believe I didn’t catch any of this my first time watching the episode, but Ben and Juliet had some small interesting conversation when they were in the Pearl Station. So, just in case you missed it too, here is basically what went down. When they walked in, they were talking about who left the door opened, and it was mentioned that Tom had been down in there a few days ago and must’ve left it open. We obviously know that it was Paulo. Also, before they left, Ben told Juliet to have someone move the plane back over the top of the hatch doors. I don’t know that this is important at all, but could offer additional insight into the Others.

Next Week: Next week’s episode is titled “Left Behind” and looks to be a great one. It will be Kate-centric, and it appears that Kate and Juliet get into a nice little scuffle. I assume that they are fighting over Jack… only, they won’t admit it. They’ll probably fight over something else, with the whole Jack-thing as just an underlying issue between the two of them. I’m placing my bets on Kate.

On a side note, the producers have also mentioned that the whole Locke’s Dad storyline will be back, but not for a couple more weeks. Darn it!!

I hope you all enjoyed the recap. I’d love to hear your feedback!

Archive Post: S3E13 - The Man From Tallahassee

Episode: The Man from Tallahassee

Character: John Locke

Wow… Lost is back at the top of its game, and I am LOVING it! Wednesday’s episode was phenomenal! I hope you all liked it as much as I did. There were a lot of points of discussion from this episode.

Where Did Rousseau Go? While finalizing their plans for entering the barracks, Danielle decides to leave. I figure, though, that she was probably just afraid of running into some old friends that she had back when she was an other…. Oops! Did I say that? Come on! She’s gotta have some connections with them. She’s been on the island for 16 years. You know this isn’t her first interaction with them. (other than the time they stole her daughter). Perhaps she was once living among them and was banished and forbade from seeing her daughter.

Peter Talbot: Locke was approached by a young man named Peter Talbot. He mentions that his mother is engaged to a man named Adam Seward. After investigating “adam’s” background, he finds that the man in question is Locke’s dad (Anthony Cooper). Of course, Locke lies and tells Peter that he doesn’t know him. But Peter is convinced that “Adam” is just after his mother for their money.

Locke then goes to find his dad to tell him that he knows that the wedding is all part of a con and warns him to call off the wedding. Next thing you know, Peter Talbot turns up dead.

“Play us a song, you’re the camera man?” While Jack is in his cozy little othersville apartment, Kate sneaks in and reveals that she is there to save him. He warns her that he is being watched. And before anything else can be said, two armed guards rush in the room—one tackling her to the ground and the other dragging in Sayid from outside. So was Jack the only one being watched? Or are ALL of the others being watched? If so, who watches them? Jacob, perhaps?

The Man From Tallahassee: Ben called for a man named Richard to come into his bedroom, while Locke and Alex hid in the closet. When Richard came in, Ben asked him to get the man from Tallahassee. Who is this man? You’ll find out soon enough…. I think.

Curious Ben: Ben was shooting question after question at Locke, asking about Locke’s newfound ability to walk. “Was it immediate? It started the moment you got here? And the feeling returned that day?” Locke realized that the reason Ben is asking about it is because he is not healing. Ben tries to turn the table on Locke by asking if he is afraid to leave the island because he knows he’ll end up back in the chair. But Locke is smarter than that now and won’t fall for Ben’s mind games.

Mother/daughter resemblance: When Alex goes outside to get Locke’s backpack from Sayid, he mentions to her that she looks like her mother, to which she replies “My mother is dead.” “That must’ve been what they told you,” Sayid reponds quickly before he is bashed over the knee and brought to the ground. I, for one, am glad that someone has finally planted this seed in Alex. It’ll be exciting to see if she begins a search for Danielle (who is now contained within the barracks).

My Wish in a Box: Ben tried to talk Locke out of blowing up the submarine, explaining to Locke that it is their only hope of getting off the island (and coming back). He said that although they all choose to be there, they like the idea that they have the choice to leave whenever they want. They aren’t fully committed to staying there, he says. Locke, on the other hand, is. And knowing that Locke is all about the mystery of the island, Ben offers up this thought: “Picture a box. You know something about boxes, don’t you, John. What if I told you that somewhere on this island, there is a very large box. And whatever you imagined, whatever you wanted to be in it… when you opened that box, there it would be. What would you say about that, John?” I can say with certainty that “Season Two”-Locke would’ve been all glossy-eyed over this speech. But “Season Three”-Locke is a new man! His witty response is, “I’d say I hope that box is big enough to imagine yourself up a new submarine.” For now, I’m just going to assume that the “box” in question is metaphoric. I can’t actually believe that there is a magical box on the island. I’ll get into more details of “the box” in a few minutes.

Boom Goes the Dynamite: Locke was escorted to the submarine by Alex. After leaving Jack came into Ben’s room and asked Ben to release his friends. Ben promises to let them go as soon as Jack leaves the island… knowing very well that Locke is on his way to blow up the submarine and that Jack will likely never leave. As Jack and Juliet are leaving, they come across Locke (who is dripping wet). The armed men who are escorting Jack and Juliet are “arresting” Locke, and that’s when Locke apologizes to Jack, “I’m sorry.” Jack asks, “Sorry for what?” And then, BLAMMO! The submarine explodes. Now their chance of leaving is gone. That is, of course, until they resume communication with the outside world, assuming that they do resume communication.

Q: How did Locke become paralyzed? A: In a smashing scene (pun intended), Locke meets up with his father, demanding answers. He is convinced that his dad is responsible for Peter’s death. Anthony begins by pouring himself a glass of MacCutcheons, the liquor that Charles Widmore poured for himself in front of Desmond, claiming that a single sip is worth more than Desmond will make in a lifetime. (Great parallel here.) Of course, Anthony denied having anything to do with Peter’s death, but Locke wanted proof. So Anthony offered up his telephone, “Go ahead and call her… the phone is right next to that giant window!” And just as he picks up the phone, Locke’s dad charges at him pushing him through the window, Locke plummeting eight stories to the ground. Congratulations, writers of Lost. Two and a half years of waiting for an answer, and I am very satisfied with the outcome. This just brings his relationship with his father to a whole new level…. Which makes the end of this episode that much more exciting.

Richard Alpert: Remember that man named “Richard” that we caught a quick glimpse of in the bedroom scene? He’s the one that Ben about getting the man from Tallahassee. Well, when Ben comes into the room where Locke is strapped to a pipe, he asks Richard to untie him. And when we actually see his face, we realize that he is Mr. Alpert, the man who “recruited” Juliet back in the “Not in Portland” episode. So was Juliet not recruited by Dharma as originally suspected?

The Kicker: Each episode of Lost tends to devote the last minute or two of the show to what I refer to as “the kicker”. It’s that one final scene where after you see it, you have cannot wait for the next episode—the cliffhangers. And this was definitely one of my favorite ones. (note: Locke episodes always have GREAT kickers). In this one, after Locke is untied from the pipe, he starts talking to John, but Locke interrupts and says “You’re not gonna talk about the magic box again, are you?” to which Ben replies, “No. I’m going to show you what came out of it.” Locke is led down a long hallway and to a door. The door opens and in the room sits a man in a chair. That man is Locke’s dad! Anthony Cooper! Adam Sweard! The real Sawyer! (oops… did I say that! I keep slipping!) Now I’ve always been a believer that Locke’s dad is the real Sawyer, but after that episode, I am 100% convinced! I even read a message on a forum that suggested the following anagram: If you take the letters in “Anthony Cooper Adam Seward” and rearrange them, you can spell “Sawyer the con man, a poor dad”. I’m not saying that that necessarily means anything, but it’s kinda neat.

Question: One of the readers (Mike U) asked an interesting question, “Ben also commented last night that no one would find the island from the outside. If this is the case, was Desmond put on the island or did he truly crash on the island like we are lead to believe?” I think that the submarine is the only way to find the island. That doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s the only way to get to the island. I mean, Rousseau’s boat crashed there too (or so we were told). And so did Oceanic Flight 815. I still have a feeling, though, that there is something supernatural that is preventing that island from being seen. Even Ben said in a past episode that even God couldn’t see the island. Very spooky.

Another reader (Chuck) asked about Locke, “Is his kidney-conning dad REALLY his dad?” Now, from what we know, he is. Locke hired a private investigator to find his father, and that’s who he came up with. Assuming that the private eye wasn’t hired by Anthony Cooper, I would say, yes… that is his father. Plus, if they came back and said that he wasn’t really his father, that’d be kinda stupid… unless they came up with a cool way to explain it! Haha.

And finally, a question from Jennifer, which, to me, is probably the most important question of all: “Was daddy brought in before the sub went down?” If they lost communication when the sky turned purple, and their underwater beacon stopped transmitting, then the sub hasn’t been able to find the island since Jack & Co. were captured. So when did Anthony Cooper get there? It had to be before then. My thought is that perhaps they brought him to the island as a bargaining chip to try and get Locke to release Ben, from when Ben was captured last season. But maybe not. Maybe the others have more of our flashback-friends captured. I really hope we find out their whole story before this season is up. I want to know what their end-game is.

Well, my time’s up here. I do want to add really quickly that next week’s episode will be Nikki & Paolo-centric and will be titled “Exposé”. And the producers have promised that it will be a good one. So, I’m relying on them to make me interested in those characters!

Thanks again for all your feedback. I apologize for the delay in getting this out. I’d love to hear your thoughts on the episode. Otherwise, I’ll talk to you next week!

-Andrew.

Archive Post: S3E12 - "Par Avion"

Episode: Par Avion

Character: Claire (aka Jack’s half-sister)

Well, LOST is officially back to its roots. We are exploring the island (not just sitting around in a hatch pushing a button). Not to mention, last night’s ending was up there with some of the best LOST endings ever. The expression on Kate’s face was priceless. Anyway… I’m getting ahead of myself. On with the recap…

More Daddy Issues: Another “daddy issue” to add to the list tonight, as we find out that Claire’s father is, in fact, Christian Shephard (aka Jack’s dad). So this means that Jack and Claire are half-brother and sister. Claire’s mom told Claire that her dad had died when she was two, but looks like Claire’s mom is (or was?) a liar. They still haven’t made it 100% clear whether or not Claire’s mom is still alive. I would assume so, because we did see a pregnant Claire talking to her mom, who was in a coma. Another important question is, will Jack and Claire ever find out that they are related? Being that neither of them is aware of the other existing and that Claire doesn’t know Christian’s name, the only way they can find out is if someone tells them. Hey, maybe Ben will tell them. The others do seem to know everything about the losties.

Catch a Falling Star: Christian told Claire that he spent time with her when she was really young. He even admitted to having sang to her. Could this be the infamous “Catch a falling star and put it in your pocket” song that Claire talked about in her previous episodes? And maybe Christian is actually alive and is working with the others, and that’s how they knew to put that song on the mobile that was built for Aaron’s crib when the others had kidnapped Claire.

Lying Locke: I think that it’s safe to say at this point that, not only can you not trust Locke with a computer, but you also can’t believe anything he says. After blowing up the flame station, he blames the fact that Sayid never told him that it was rigged with C4. And later, Sayid finds a block of C4 in Locke’s backpack. So, obviously he was aware what he was doing. The big questions are… why did he do it? And more importantly, what else did he salvage while he was in the basement? Dharma Initiative manuals perhaps?

Charlie’s Fate: After his ride in the Dharma-brand VW bus, it seemed Charlie had a new outlook on life—picnics with Claire, mornings with baby Aaron (aka “Midget”), no more worrying about his life being in danger. But Desmond has been even more persistent in this episode. He still insists that Charlie is going to die. But if you think about all the situations in which Charlie “dies” that Desmond described, they all involve Claire. So maybe the only way Charlie can live is if Claire dies.

“The List” returns (sorry… this one’s gonna be a long one): Mikhail was talking to Kate about how he arrived on the island, being brought by submarine. Then he tells her about how their underwater beacon stopped emitting its sonar signal when the electromagnetic pulse occurred. (It is important to notice that while Kate is talking to Mikhail and he mentions the submarine, the camera is clearly focused on Locke, even while Kate is talking). Kate asked him about their ability to leave the island and come back, to which he replied that since the EMP, people are inable to come back. “Why would you want to come back?,” she asked. He said that she wouldn’t understand, but quickly corrected himself to say that she is “not capable of understanding” because she is not on the list. He goes on to explain that the man who brought him (and all of his people) to the island is a magnificent man. Now wait a minute, didn’t Ben say that he’s been on the island his whole life? He must’ve been brought there when he was a baby (unless he’s lying). Kate even brings up Ben (thinking that Patchy is speaking about him), to which he replies that he’s not speaking of Ben. Here is Patchy’s description of the list:

(to Kate) “You are not on the list because you are flawed…”

(to Locke) “…cause you are angry…”

(to Sayid (and Rousseau?)) “…cause you are weak… and frightened”

Sayid tells him not to speak to him like he knows him.

“Of course I don’t know you, Sayid Jarrah. How could I? You, Kate Austen, are a complete stranger to me. But you, John Locke—you, I might have a fleeting memory of. But I must be confused, because the John Locke I know was para—“ Mikhail is quickly interrupted by Rousseau before finishing his comment about Locke being para….lyzed. I made this entry extra long and detailed because I think it is a VERY important scene. I can’t help but wonder if Rousseau interrupted Mikhail because she didn’t want him to say anything about her. I am still convinced that she is a huge liar!

And how does Mikhail know everyone? Are they being fed this information through an earpiece? I’ve seen “Alias” and “24”. I know how this sorta thing works! Even Colleen knew who Sun was when she bumped into her on the sailboat. It would be practically impossible for all the others to know all the losties.

Shocking Scene: Sayid and Co. arrived at a security perimeter that surrounds the barracks. There were pillars that wouldn’t allow them to cross without being electrocuted with a sonic pulse. Mikhail said that they haven’t functioned in years, but they weren’t gonna cross it without a little proof first. So Locke took it upon himself to hurl Mikhail into the sonic fence, killing him. Well, I guess it works. Kate concludes that the only way to cross the fence without dying is to climb over it. When Sayid goes into Locke’s bag to get the axe so that they can build a makeshift ladder to cross over the fence, he finds the C4 that Locke stole from the Flame. So what is Locke’s agenda? Why the C4? What is he going to blow up? The submarine? Ben? The barracks? It might sound stupid to blow up the barracks, but if he does, then that might force the others to bring everyone back to the “real world” and finally off the island.

Message to the Outside World: Desmond was able to catch a Seagull for Claire, so that they can attach a message to its foot so in hopes that the outside world would receive it and would send rescue. It was a very touching note and read as follows:

“To whom it may concern: We are survivors of Oceanic Flight 815. We have survived on this island for 80 days. Six hours into the flight, the pilot said we were off course and turned back toward Fiji. We hit turbulence and crashed. We’ve been waiting here all this time—waiting for rescue that has not come. We do not know where we are. We only know you have not found us. We’ve done our best to live on this island. Some of us have come to accept we may never leave it. Not all of us have survived since the crash. There is new life too. And with it, there is hope. We are alive. Please don’t give up on us.”

So can we expect this note to reach the outside world? As long as the seagull doesn’t go in the water and get that note all wet, it’s very possible.

Big Man On Campus: Sayid, Rousseau, Locke, and Kate finally reach the barracks, only to find a community of people living their everyday lives. Suddenly, Jack is seen running toward the group. He looks over his shoulder reaches up and catches a football being thrown by Tom. WHAT? Jack is comfortably living among the others in Othersville? And what about all the other people in the background—kids on bikes, teenagers with backpacks, etc? Is there a school on the island? And exactly how big is Othersville? But more importantly, what the hell is Jack doing? One of three things is plausible:

1. Jack has been brainwashed to become an “other”.

2. Jack has realized that the others are actually friendly people and is willing to live among them.

3. Jack is pretending to go along with the Others, which is all just a part of his diabolical scheme! Muahahahahah!

I like the idea that it is all part of Jack’s plan. What that plan is, though, we’ll have to wait and see.

Next Week: Because Locke is probably my favorite character, I couldn’t be any more excited about next week’s episode. We are even supposed to find out what put him in the wheelchair. And can I just say, it’s about time we found that out. And apparently, Ben already knows the truth about why Locke was paralyzed. I am also really looking forward to seeing how Rousseau interacts with the Others. I hope she doesn’t wuss out and scurry away into the thick jungle brush. Then again, if she does, she’d have to find a new way over the sonic perimeter. And will Rousseau finally come face-to-face with her daughter? And what are the repercussions from that? Will she seek revenge on the Others for having taken her? But most importantly, will the truth about Rousseau finally come out? We can hope.

Archive Post: S3E11 - Enter 77

Episode: “Enter 77”

Character: Sayid

Hi, everyone. I hope you all enjoyed last night’s Sayid-centric episode. And simply because I’m lazy, let’s just jump right into it:

305 Compass Bearing: When Locke and Sayid were burying Eko a few episodes ago, Locke saw a “sign” on Eko’s stick. It said “Lift up your eyes, and look north.” At least, that’s what I thought it said. I didn’t notice until the “Previously on Lost” in this episode that it said “Lift up your eyes and look north, John 305” (the first part being what I assume is a scripture from John 3:05, which explains how Locke got his compass bearing.

The Great Mysterious Rousseau: Why, oh why, would Rousseau refuse to go investigate Patchy’s house? She said that she’s managed to survive by specifically avoiding situations like that. So, how many times has she been confronted with such situations? She is definitely hiding something!

Mikhail (aka Patchy): After approaching him (and getting shot), Sayid explains their situation and begins asking for answers about the Dharma Initiative…. And that’s when they start pouring out. Here is a breakdown of his comments, as well as whether I think they are true or not:

The Dharma Initiative:

He begins by explaining that he is the last remaining member of the Dharma Initiative (LIE). He goes on to describe how he became a member of the Dharma Initiative (LIE) —he says that he responded to a newspaper ad that said “Do you want to save the world”. He said that when he signed up (11 years ago), he was assigned to the Flame station, which is used for communication with the outside world (True about flame station’s purpose).

The Purge

Mikhail described a “purge”, in which there was a war between the Dharma Initiative and the Others (“hostiles”) (TRUE). He said that they killed all other members of the Dharma Initiative, and let him stay there, as long as he followed the rules and didn’t cross the outlying perimeter.

Underwater Beacon Cable: Sayid asked Mikhail about the cable that runs into the water, and he informs him that it is used for an underwater beacon, which is used to guide the submarine.

Here Kitty Kitty…. Sayid noticed a Cat outside the Flame Station, and seemed to take a long look at it (as if he’d noticed it from somewhere). We later find out that it “looks like” (and probably is) a cat that belonged to a lady that Sayid tortured back in the day. Now, I was convinced that the cat is the smoke monster at the end of this episode, but after watching it a second time, I realized that Mikhail owned the cat long enough to name it, so it was likely not smokey. Ironically, the cat’s name is “Nadia”. Remember, that’s the name of Sayid’s girlfriend. Mikhail informs Sayid that the cat was named after Nadia Elena Comaneci, who “coincidentally” was a gymnast who joined a new gym in 1967 that was called “The Flame”. J

My wife is smarter that I am: I have to admit, I didn’t realize it last night, but she totally called it. So, I am admitting that she is smarter than me when she noticed that Sayid found the “hatch” under the rug, after seeing the cat scratching at it.

Knight to C4: After knocking Mikhail out and tying him up, Sayid & Co. ventured down the hatch, where they were convinced someone else was hiding. While down there, they see that the entire place was wired with C4. (Meanwhile, Locke is upstairs playing game-after-game of Chess on Mikhail’s computer). Sayid comes across a bookshelf with tons of Dharma binders on it… the two they showed said “Operations Manual” and “Food Drop Protocol”. It cuts back to Locke, who is finally able to win a game of chess. The screen then cuts to a video of Marvin Candle, describing different communication options (For a food drop, press this. For whatever, press that. If the hostiles have taken over, enter 77.) This obviously links to the C4 in the basement, which would cause the entire building to explode.

Rest In Peace, Bea: While exploring the basement, Kate is attacked by Ms. (Bea) Klugh, but she and Sayid are able to take her down. They go outside to discover that Locke has been taken hostage by Mikhail. He offers to trade Locke for Ms. Klugh, but Locke tells Sayid not to do it. Instead, Bea starts speaking in Russian (?) to Mikhail. Luckily, I’ve found several sites that translate their conversation. Here is a paraphrase of their conversation:

Bea: You know what you have to do.

Mikhail: There’s got to be another way.

Bea: No there isn’t. Shoot me.

Mikhail: No. I can’t. We’ll find another way.

Bea: Just shoot me, dammit!

[Mikhail looks at Bea]

Mikhail: I’m sorry

*GUNSHOT*

[Bea is dead]

The Barracks: Sayid revealed that he’s found a map, which shows electrical and data cabling leading from the Flame Station to an area called “The Barracks”, which houses enough electricity and plumbing to support an entire community. Hello! Can you say “Othersville”? This has got to be the same place we saw at the beginning of season 3. I can’t wait for Sayid & Co. to get there. More specifically, though, I can’t wait for Locke to get there. I have a strong feeling that Locke seeing all of that stuff and coming into more contact with the others, is going to lead to something huge.

Don’t tell Locke what he can’t do! In fact, don’t tell Locke anything. You tell him not to do something, he does it. Then if you tell him to do something (i.e. “Enter 77”), he does it. How do you get Locke to not do something? Sheesh. He has got to be the most curious mofo on the block. And now, because of his actions, the Flame Station is….well…. up in flames, along with all of the information about the Dharma Initiative inside. The key to their escape was in those binders, and now they’re gone.

And now….The Most Important Part of the Episode: Sawyer lost a game of ping-pong to Hurley, and now he can’t call people nicknames for an entire week!

The Funniest Line: It had to be when Sawyer asked Paulo who the hell he was. Haha!

Well, lunch is over. I apologize for this recap… I know it’s not as good as the past ones, but I am extremely tired right now. J I’ll try to make next week’s better.

Archive Post: S3E10 - "Tricia Tanaka is Dead"

Episode: Tricia Tanaka is Dead

Character: Hurley

I just want to intro this by saying that this was one of my favorite episodes, regardless of the lack of mysteries or answers, etc. I just love the humor factor and the episode altogether left me feeling good. I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did. On with the recap….

Libby’s Grave: One of the first scenes had Hurley speaking to Libby as he knelt at her gravesite. It was a very touching scene, and I’m still really upset that we still don’t know anything about Libby’s past, except for the fact that she was in the mental hospital (why?) and that she gave Desmond the sailboat. I really look forward to finding out her backstory. Unfortunately, she is dead, so we’ll have to wait to find her in those cross-overs in other people’s flashbacks.

Vincent Gives Hurley a Hand: …actually, it was an arm—a Dharma arm to be specific. Vincent (or as I like to call him, “smokey’s manifestation of Vincent”) brought Hurley a skeletal arm, which held onto a rabbit’s foot keychain. It’s very ironic that the keychain was a rabbit’s foot, seeing as how Hurley’s entire backstory revolves around luck and curses. I think this is symbolic of things to come. Hurley’s luck is finally turning around.

The Cameraman Died Too: Shortly after Tricia Tanaka and her cameraman went into the Mr. Cluck’s restaurant, Hurley hears the meteor (actually a meteorite) shooting down from the sky and it completely demolishes the building. It was really cool to finally see it happen. This is something that Hurley told Jack about last season during his rant about the cursed numbers.

Hooked on Phonics: Jin and Sun were on the beach in the “kitchen” area, and Sun asked Jin to pass her the cereal, but of course, Jin didn’t understand. She warned him that she will only speak to him in English in order to help him learn. The funny thing is, Daniel Dae Kim (the actor that plays Jin) speaks English VERY well… better than most Americans.

No Mo’ Freckles? The Kate and Sawyer storyline in this episode was written really well and really showed the demons that they are facing as they try and have a real relationship. After Kate pulled the dart from Sawyer’s foot, they started having a conversation and Kate told him that all he had to do was apologize. He immediately put up his wall (metaphor) and blocked Kate from getting too close. She walked away and as they arrived at the beach, she said “Welcome home, Sawyer.” What? No “James”? And then in his response, he calls her “Kate”. And to be honest, I think this is the first time he didn’t use a nickname with her. The tension between the two of them is so thick!! And at the end of the episode, when Sawyer is watching all of the other couples interact, you can really tell that he misses Kate. I have to give kudos to Josh Holloway and Evangeline Lilly for their acting this season. Well done!

Carmen’s Loins are Burning! Making sure to cover the ears of the golden Jesus statue, Hurley’s mom (Carmen) reveals that she is willing to welcome Hurley’s father back into their lives because it’s been 17 years since she’s done the ol’ hibbity-dibbity, and is ready to get….it…..on! Hurley later has to sleep with headphones on because his mom apparently likes to make a lot of noise in the sack. HAHAHAHA

Roger WorkMan (aka “Skeletor”): This scene had me laughing nonstop with Hurley thinking that Roger’s last name was “Workman” because his Dharma jumpsuit said “Work Man” on it. HAHAHA. The scene ends with Sawyer telling Hurley that there isn’t any hope on the island. Hmmm…. I smell a challenge! Hurley is now on a mission to prove Sawyer wrong. He is finally ready to give up on the whole “cursed” thing, and start making his own luck (Hey, isn’t that what Hurley’s dad told him at the beginning of the episode). On a separate note, anyone else get the vibe that Roger’s last name was really Radzinski (Kelvin’s original hatchmate)?

The Mystic Arts ARE Subject to Bribery: Hurley’s dad took him to a psychic, who reveals that he is, in fact, cursed, and it is caused by the “dark” numbers. When she offers to break the curse, he questions whether or not his dad put her up to it. She quickly declines, even after Hurley offers her $1000 to tell the truth. But when he raises the stakes to $10,000, she rats out Hurley’s dad and admits that he put her up to it.

17 Years? So where has Hurley’s dad been for 17 years? I don’t know if this has any significance, but it’s worth thinking about.

Red….neck…..man: Finally, Sawyer gets a nickname. I was laughing hysterically when Hurley tried so hard to come up with some insulting nickname for Sawyer, and all he could come up with was Redneck Man. HAHA. This episode was full of new nicknames, all of which were hilarious. My favorites were: Skeletor (Roger), Jiminy Cricket (Charlie), and of course, Redneck Man (Sawyer).

Shotgun Chuck: When Hurley finds the hill to drive the van down, Charlie offers to ride shotgun and says “Victory or Death”, showing that he is not going to let Desmond’s threat hold him back in life. A couple weeks ago, I wouldn’t have been really mad if Charlie would’ve died… but now I’d be really angry. I think it’s just the fact that we haven’t really spent much time with these core characters, and now that we’re back, I don’t want anyone to go.

Meat and Potatoes: The main core characters (Locke, Sayid, Charlie, Hurley, etc.) are often referred to in the LOST community as the “meat and potatoes”, and we definitely got our serving tonight. I was VERY happy to be back with our main Losties. My wife even made a comment last night about this episode feeling like we were back with family, and she couldn’t be any more right. It felt like watching an episode from season one. Yeah, there wasn’t a lot of mythological things in this episode or any mysteries of any real importance. But it was heartfelt, fun, and hilarious, and I loved it!

anielleDay ousseauRay: Unfortunately, I don’t speak French, so Pig-Latin is the best I could do for the title. But yes, Rousseau is BACK! I really really really really (yes, really) look forward to upcoming episodes with her. She’s got so much history on the island. And now with her and Kate and Sayid and Locke all going to find Jack, maybe Rousseau will start talking and we’ll finally get some answers. For crying out loud, the Haitian guy on “Heroes” says more things than she does! I’ve really got my fingers crossed that the final flashback of the season is Rousseau’s…. but unfortunately, I don’t think the producers are gonna give us that just yet. I’d settle for a Ben flashback though. Just don’t make the finale a Paulo & Nikki flashback (which is actually slated for episode 17, I believe).

Next Week: It’s a Sayid-centric episode called “Enter 77”. And from the preview, it looks like we’ll get some more Dharma-stuff. And, we’ll finally get to meet the eye-patch guy.

As always, I love getting your feedback.

Archive Post: S3E09 - "Stranger in a Strange Land"

Episode: Stranger In A Strange Land

Character: Jack

Hi, everyone! I hope you all enjoyed Wednesday’s episode, as I did. I have to admit, though, I tend to only be able to think about the Desmond episode still. It’s not that this past episode was bad… it just wasn’t nearly as cool as the one last week. But that’s not what this is about…. Let’s get into the most recent episode, “Stranger In A Strange Land”.

Achura: Jack’s Thailand-based mistress, Achura (Gesundheit!) is a strange character. She has the ability to see who people truly are, and is the one who gives Jack his tattoo. To be honest, I didn’t really like her character. Part of me hopes that this is the last time we see her… unless she turns up on the island in some weird mythology-filled way. J

Ethan Rom, MD? Jack was complaining to Ben about how they should have a surgeon in their group, and Ben’s shocking response was “We had a surgeon. His name was Ethan.” We’ve also seen that 3 years ago, Ethan was not on the island (in Juliet’s flashback). And, hey, wasn’t Locke paralyzed as of 4 years ago? Could it be that Ethan was Locke’s doctor? Or even a doctor for any of the other Losties? These are the kinds of backstory cross-overs that I would just LOVE to see!

Isabelle the Sherrif: One of the two new characters introduced in this episode, she controls the screen pretty well. It is also important to note that she is not the same lady who played the jeweler (oracle) in last week’s episode. That aside, it is strange how the others only have what they need. They only have one surgeon, one fertility doctor, one law official, but at the same time, have a dozen boats. So now that Ethan (their surgeon) is dead. Are they going to try to keep Jack?

The Triangle Becomes a Square: Kate, I’d like to introduce you to Juliet… your competition. While I don’t see Juliet and Sawyer ever being in love with each other, it is obvious that Juliet will come between Kate and Jack. Her jealousy of Juliet will likely lead to Sawyer’s jealousy of Jack, and it goes round and round until ultimately, Sayid ends up jealous of Hurley, and he doesn’t even know why. J

The “Other” Love Story (pun-intended): Don’t get me wrong, I love relationships in TV shows and movies… but it just bothers me when we’re constantly stuck in a love triangle (as most shows often do). I’m kinda tired of “Jack or Sawyer” and “McDreamy or McSteamy”. The relationships that I like are the ones like Penny and Desmond, who are just meant to be together and that’s that—which is why I really like the Karl and Alex relationship. Unfortunately, I don’t think Karl is gonna make it. He just doesn’t seem like a survivor to me. But who knows… I’ve been wrong in the past.

Who Are These “Others”? Jack wakes up to find Cindy and the other tailies standing outside his cage. He recognizes her and asks what she’s doing there. Her response is, “It’s complicated. We’re here to watch.” Her response is intriguing, because it implies that she knows what they’re doing, and is part of the plan. Has she too been brainwashed? And more importantly, why have they not already brainwashed any of the other Losties?

An Eye for an Eye: Juliet’s sentencing was based on their rule of “Eye for an Eye”. Juliet killed Pickett, so Juliet will in turn be killed. I think it’s important to keep this in mind, as it is a very defining character trait of the “others”.

Where’s the Boat Manufacturer? At the end of the episode, as Jack, Juliet, Ben, and all of their friends sail back to their “Home”, they row out to another bigger boat. So the obvious question is, “Where are all of these boats coming from?” And how many do they have? They had the one that Michael and Walt left on; they have the submarine; they have the boat from this episode; Alex had a boat that she gave to Sawyer and Kate; etc.

“Home” Sweet “Home”: On the subject of their village from the season premiere (Othersville), Karl says that Ben refers to it as “Home”. So is this where Ben promised that he would take Jack to? He promised that if he operated on his spine, he would let jack get off the island and take him home. Well, technically “Home” is on the other island.

Captain Bunny-Killer (if he catches us): While sailing back to the main island, Sawyer and Kate argued over whether or not to go back and get Jack. Sawyer says, “What do you think Captain Bunny-Killer will do if he catches us.” A half-awake Karl says “He’ll kill you…… God loves us as he loved Jacob.” At first, these seem like two separate comments, but when you consider them to be as one, it really makes you think. The phrase “God loves you as he loved Jacob” is from the infamous brainwashing video that Karl was watching. Could it be that the video also has messages in it that threaten the brainwashee to believe that Ben is a dangerous man.

Better Life? Once Kate and Sawyer got to the main island, they asked Karl about the kids, and what they do with them. Karl’s response was that they gave them a “better life”, a life better than Kate and Sawyers. Again, this goes back to Ben’s comment last year about how they are the “good guys”. So here is my thought on the “others”…. They obviously believe that what they are doing is good. But it appears that what they are doing is actually bad. So maybe they are all brainwashed to believe that the non-others are a lot worse off than they actually are. So Karl may be thinking that Kate and Sawyer are SO unfortunate, not realizing that they are actually better off than he is.

The Brand and the Tat: “He walks amongst us, but he is not one of us”. The revelation of the meaning behind Jack’s tattoo was probably the biggest revelation of the episode. I really like the parallel that was drawn here between Jack’s tattoo and Juliet’s branding. Juliet was branded as the Others’ version of a scarlet letter, so that she will forever be marked as a traitor, or as someone who isn’t worthy or doesn’t belong. Again, “He walks amongst us, but is not one of us.” Jack’s tattoo places him as an outsider, as does Juliet’s branding.

3 Huge Questions Answered? Dear ABC, please do not make promos that are misleading. It seems in the promos for the most recent episode of “LOST”, you promised that 3 of LOST’s biggest questions would be answered, and not a single one was. And if you consider the meaning behind Jack’s tattoos as one of the biggest questions on LOST, then you’re not watching the same show as I am. Now, I could understand if Jack’s tattoo was the blueprints to how the smoke monster works, or maybe a map of how to escape the island (ala “Prison Break”), then that could be considered important. But it seemed that the translation wasn’t any more important than if I had a tattoo on my arm that says “Obsessed with LOST” written in Comic Sans.

That being said, my lunch-hour is nearly over. Don’t hesitate to send me feedback. I’d like to hear your thoughts on the episode. Until next week…

Archive Post: S3E08 - Flashes Before Your Eyes

Episode Title: "Flashes Before Your Eyes"

Character: Desmond

Holy crap.

After last night’s episode aired, after I got over the thought of “What the hell did I just see?”, I thought, “Now how do I write a recap about an episode that I hardly understood?” So this recap is gonna follow a slightly different pattern than usual. I found myself running through a list of movies, all leading to different theories about what last night’s episode meant. So I’m gonna do my best to interpret those thoughts as well as some others. Here goes nothin.

“The Terminator” The biggest question about last night’s episode seems to be “Was it a flashback? Or did he actually go back in time?” Being that Desmond woke up completely naked, it draws an interesting parallel to “The Terminator”. When a terminator travels back in time, it arrives in the nude. And while Desmond wasn’t surrounded by an electrical orb as Arnold was, it is still an interesting connection.

“The Butterfly Effect” Through reading journals that he wrote as a young boy, Evan (played by Ashton Kutcher) was able to relocate himself into his past. Doing this allowed him to change his past, thus changing the present. Now, let’s assume that this is the case, and Desmond did travel back in time. We know that he changed the course of events because he is the one that got hit with the cricket bat, instead of the bartender. Could that have led to changes in all of the characters’ lives? Is that what we’re seeing in the flashbacks? Are we seeing all things that have changed because of that event? Or am I just blowing smoke out of my rear?

“Final Destination” The entire “Final Destination” series centers around the idea that death is imminent, and inescapable. The jeweler (or should I say “oracle”) told Desmond that the man with the red shoes was going to die, no matter what she did. The end of the episode last night had Desmond relaying that same message to Charlie. All of Desmond’s recent efforts have been to save Charlie’s life (not Claire’s, as suspected). He tells Charlie that he is going to die, no matter what. The big question here is, though, “Can Desmond change Charlie’s destiny?” This movie is even referenced with the reoccurrence of “Make Your Own Kind of Music” playing in the background, similar to the way that one song (sorry… can’t remember the details) kept playing in “Final Destination” whenever someone was going to die.

On a side note, now that Desmond’s flashback reminded him that he ran into Charlie on the streets, will he confront Charlie and tell him about it? I’d be interested to see if the island is causing Desmond to have this memory/hallucination, it’d be really cool to see other losties have these same visions. Then maybe they could realize how intertwined their stories are.

“Back To The Future” Obviously, this episode deals mainly with the idea of time. When Desmond was trying to buy the ring, the jeweler (again, “oracle”) has a wall of clocks behind her, just as found in Dr. Emmitt Brown’s house. I also found it really interesting that Desmond’s best friend was a 60-year-old scientist who drove a DeLorean. And if you looked carefully in the background, you could see Penelope riding around on a Pit-Bull brand hover-board. That’s when Desmond turned to Charlie and said “Nobody calls me chicken!” J

In all seriousness, though, on the subject of the “oracle”, I wonder if she actually existed in Desmond’s past. And, in true LOST fashion, I am positive that we’ll see her again, crossed in the flashbacks of other characters.

“Donnie Darko” I really hate to do this to you, but just watch the movie, and you’ll see what I’m saying. Actually, watch the movie, and then look it up online so that you can understand the movie. Then, you’ll see what I’m talking about. I could get into it in detail, but not only would it take way too long to explain, but it would also ruin a great movie if I spoiled it for you.

My Thoughts: To be honest, I really don’t know what to say. This episode had a lot of little easter eggs, including several appearances from the numbers, a paint bucket that said “future” on it, billboard signs in the soccer stadium that advertised for nearly all LOST-oriented companies (The Hanso Foundation, Oceanic Airlines, Mr. Clucks, Apollo Candy, Gannon Car Rentals which we also saw on “Heroes”), just to name a few. So what does this mean? Were these actually there? I tend to believe that he was having a dream, and half of what he saw was real and half was not. It is going to be hard to try and dissect this episode to try and determine what was real and what wasn’t. Any thoughts?

Next Week: The episode next week is called “Stranger in a Strange Land”, and will be a Jack-centric flashback. I try to avoid all spoilers, so I can’t tell you much on the episode. I can say, though, that the producers have confirmed (via the Official Lost Podcast) that we will be turning our focus back to the main island very shortly. I’m really looking forward to getting some answers about the others, but even more than that, I’m looking forward to just getting back to seeing what some Lost-fans refer to as the “meat and potatoes” (that being the original cast: Sayid, Locke, Jin, Sun, Claire, Charlie, Hurley, etc).

I apologize if this recap isn’t nearly as good as the past ones. That, in no way, is reflective of the quality of last night’s episode. In my opinion, “Flashes Before Your Eyes” was one of the best episodes ever. What made it great was how much it stood out from all of the other episodes and how much of an impact it will have on the overall show. It doesn’t seem like it now, but I guarantee you that this episode will pay off in the long-run. It wasn’t just a pointless dream sequence. I promise.

Am I the only one that is just LOVING season 3?

I’d love to get some feedback from you all to hear your thoughts on the episode. It is definitely one that requires conversation.

Archive Post: S3E07 - "Not in Portland"

Character: Juliet

LOST's Anatomy? It appears ABC thought it would be cool to expand an already-existing “Grey’s Anatomy” reference. Dr. Jack Shephard of “LOST” and Dr. Derrick Shephard of “Grey’s” already co-exist. Now, Dr. Preston Burke (of “Grey’s”) will also be sharing last names with Dr. Juliet Burke (of “LOST”). Come on, ABC. Be creative. Why not use one of the other millions of last names out there?

Shocking Moment: Was it just me, or was it not the coolest thing ever when Kate and Sawyer were trying to escape and Sawyer slammed Pickett’s head into the food button 3 times in order to electrocute him? I was loudly cheering him on for that one!

Mommy Rachel: Juliet’s sister, Rachel, appears to be a cancer patient. Juliet has been paying her visits to secretly inject her with experimental fertility drugs in an attempt to help her get pregnant. In traditional LOST fashion, though, they never really explain the details of Juliet’s plan. She can’t simply be assisting her sister in getting pregnant, so is she impregnating her sister (without sperm, maybe)? There was mention of Juliet being able to successfully impregnate a male fieldmouse. So, maybe her sister is really a dude? Haha

The Slingshot Kid: While Kate and Sawyer were running away, one of the ‘others’ gets hit with a rock. Pan over, and it’s Alex with a slingshot. She leads Kate and Sawyer into a pit that she dug where they can hide out. But the important question here is… how many other holes are there? And, is this where the infamous whispers are coming from? Could these pits be scattered across both islands?

Fire the anesthesiologist! With a huge hole in his back, still lying on the operating table, Ben comes to. He demands to talk to Juliet. He tells Jack that he’s been able to hear Jack for several minutes. And when Juliet walks in, he asks to speak with her privately. Jack offers him 3 minutes, which ironically is the amount of time given to Michael to visit with Walt when he was captured last season.

Tom + Jack = awkward situation: As Juliet and Ben speak in the operating room, Jack and Tom watch from the observation room. Tom looks over at Jack and says, “I’m Tom, by the way.” Now, I don’t mean to judge people, but it seems that some people could be right in their theories that Tom is a gay character. Am I the only one that thought Tom might be flirting with Jack? And when Juliet and Ben finish talking, Juliet comes in to tell Jack to finish helping Ben… and she will go help save Sawyer and Kate.

Mittelos Bioscience: Mr. Alpert, the founder of Mittelos Bioscience gives Juliet a presentation about his organization, and asks that she join them in Portaland. He shows her ultrasound photos that appear to be from a woman in her 70’s. Juliet quickly learns that the woman is actually 26. She is very intrigued, but declines because her ex-husband, who runs the hospital, wouldn’t let her go. She jokes that she’d be able to go, only if he was hit by a bus. **COUGH**foreshadowing**COUGH**

You should also note that “Mittelos” is an anagram for “LOST TIME”, and is also a play on the name “Mittlewerk”, one of the founders of the Hanso Foundation.

Who’s Your Daddy? Alex pretends to have captured Kate and Sawyer in an attempt to get access to a building where she believes Karl (her boyfriend) is being held. She tells the guard that her dad told her to take them there. So, he radios for Ben. So does that mean that Ben is her dad? Or is Ben pretending to be her dad? Because up till now, we’ve been led to believe that Rousseau is her mom. There are a million questions to ask, but I think the most important one is… Can we trust Rousseau? I don’t think that many of the things she has told us are true. She mentions that her team was sick and that they all had to be killed, but I’m thinking that she might just be crazy.

Karl’s Personal Movie Theatre: Alex, Sawyer, and Kate all break into that building and find Karl in room 23, taking part in what can only be an intense brainwashing session. Loud music and images flashing on a huge movie screen, with special brainwashing glasses, even Sawyer got caught in a trance. So is this the room that the others kept Walt in? Remember when Ms. Klugh threatened Walt at the end of last season and said, “You don’t want to go back into the room, do you?” Maybe Walt was un-brainwashable.

Don’t play in the street! After Juliet’s sister told her that she was pregnant, Juliet went to tell her ex-husband, who thought that Juliet’s research was “unethical”. He was talking to her about publishing her data, and before he could continue the article, SLAM! He was hit by a bus! WHAT?! That can NOT be just a coincidence. Obviously, the Mittelos guy staged that whole thing. But, was he driving the bus? Or did he use brainwashing techniques to get the bus driver to do it? Or is he like Sylar…. Oops, wrong show.

Purple Sky: While Jack is finishing up on Ben, he talks to Tom and asks why they didn’t just take Ben to a facility off the island (since they’re apparently able to). Tom begins to explain, “Because, when the sky turned purple—“ and suddenly Jack accidentally slits an artery and the conversation is quickly interrupted. Note to Jack: When you are about to get answers, STOP WHAT YOU’RE DOING. Sheesh… we could’ve gotten a whole lot of information there, but NO…. Jack had to fix Ben first. Dammit! Looks like we’ll have to wait 2 more seasons before we find out now.

The Reunion of Mr. & Mrs. Pickett: Sawyer and Kate loaded Karl into Alex’s boat, and Danny comes up from behind, aiming a gun at Sawyer. And just as he is about to shoot, Juliet calls him from behind, and fires 2 shots right into his chest. And the most hated of all others is dead. They all go running into the boat, but Juliet stops Alex and says that she needs to stay. And that is the only way that her dad will let Karl live. But Ben doesn’t seem like he would kill Karl. So, maybe he isn’t her dad. Maybe Jacob is Alex’s dad. Again, I wonder, where the hell is Rousseau? She could definitely help clear up this whole thing.

Blood-squirtin’ and story-tellin’: As Jack tries to repair Ben’s sliced artery, Kate radios in and tells him that they are safe. He asks that she tell him the story that he told her when they first met, and she does. It’s a great scene, because it is mirroring almost exactly what is going on with sewing up Ben’s artery. Just as Kate says “you fixed her”, the heart monitor beeping returns to a regular pace. Before signing off of the walkie-talkie, Jack tells Kate that she is never to return to the 2nd island to help rescue Jack. And her and Sawyer sail off into the distance, heading for the mainland with Karl in the front of their boat. Now, assuming that Karl isn’t TOO brainwashed, it’d be interesting to see how he interacts with the rest of the Losties. Maybe he can finally give them some of the answers they’ve been waiting for. Or maybe, just as he’s about to, someone else will slit an artery and we won’t get answers, yet again.

Ethan’s tissues: Juliet is crying at the morgue after she is shown her ex-husband’s body. Ethan approaches and offers her some tissues. Mr. Alpert comes up and introduces Ethan as one of his colleagues. Juliet quickly makes the connection that her husband was hit by a bus, which is what she told Mr. Alpert needed to happen. He downplays it and re-offers her the job in Portland. He tells her that it will only take 6 months, and if she doesn’t like it, she can come back, just in time for her sister to give birth. He then confesses that they’re not exactly based in Portland. Island, anyone?

The Big Reveal: Juliet comes into the observation room, where Jack sits, overlooking Ben. He asks Juliet what Ben said that made her want to let him live. She confesses the following: “I’ve been on this island for 3 years, 2 months, and 28 days. He said that if I let him live, and I helped you, that he would finally let me go home.” HOLY CRAP! SHE IS A PRISONER TOO! This makes so much sense. Go back and watch the first 6 episodes (I don’t have to because I’ve got them all memorized), but you’ll see all these little things that hint at this. For example…

After Juliet got Jack to break down and be honest with her, she left the room and Ben congratulated her, “Good work, Juliet” in a very teacher-student way. So, this means that he instructed her to go in and get Jack to gain her trust.

He also told Jack that Juliet was purposely sent in because she looked like Sarah. So, imagine that Ben has a whole pool of people that are being held captive, and he researches Jack, finds out what Sarah looks like, reaches into his group of prisoners and picks out Juliet, the closest look-alike.

Juliet wanted Jack to make sure that Ben died on the table. This is because he wouldn’t let her go home.

Next Week: We are 6 days away from the next Desmond Flashback. I’m really crossing my fingers to find out exactly what happened to him, and how he can see the future. My bet is that he has always been able to see the future. “How can this be?” you might be asking. Well, remember, before this season, we had only seen Desmond for a couple days. It is likely that there are a whole lot of things that we don’t know about him. Maybe we’ll get more insight into his relationship with Penny.

More Online Stuff? It appears that the LOST Experience from last summer is not over. There is a new web site called http://www.mittelosbioscience.org/, which is currently inactive. It was active immediately following the episode, but is currently not working (overload, probably). Anyway, when you go in there, you could log in with username “jburke” and password “rachel”. There, you could read a message to Juliet from her sister, that links to a video clip of her daughter. A mysterious man interrupts the video though. Check out the video for yourself.

Being that I work in advertising, I have to give kudos to the creators of LOST and all of its advertising glory. They really have changed the game.

Until next week!
